Meet the Founder — Simran Pujarra
Malaiyyo began as something deeply personal for its founder, Simran.
From a young age, she was drawn to antiques and heirloom objects - jewellery and artefacts collected from different parts of the world. What stayed with her was not just their beauty, but the care behind them. The patience of handwork. The precision of small details. The way certain pieces seemed to carry time within them.
As she grew older, she noticed a gap in the jewellery landscape. Fine jewellery offered quality, but often felt distant and inaccessible. Imitation jewellery, while easier to find, lacked the depth, finish, and character she admired in antique pieces. There was little that brought together craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and everyday wearability in a way that felt effortless.
Malaiyyo was created to bridge that gap.
The brand reimagines heritage-inspired jewellery through a modern lens - offering pieces that look and feel like fine jewellery, crafted with artisan finishes, and designed to be worn often. Each creation draws from Indian craftsmanship, antique silhouettes, florals, pearls, and traditional techniques, refined for the present day.
